APEX Program Health Check
This was a Risk and Readiness review of Boral’s Supply Chain Integration Program. The program involved the implementation of the US based Command Alkon software to the Boral quarries. The program was deemed slow in its delivery which adversely impacted its value and benefits proposition. The Health Check considered 12 agreed focus areas and evaluated the conduct of the program against these. The APEX steering committee agreed and ratified the majority of our recommendations.
PMWorks conducted a Health Check on a major capital project for Boral. The PMWorks team were professional, credible and straightforward to do business with. The Health Check report was delivered on time, within budget and provided key actionable insights to improve the overall performance of the project.

Helping standardise PMO
Suncorp approached PMWorks with a single objective in mind, to increase the skills & knowledge of their current PMO teams. The problem the business faced was the development of inconsistent terms & processes. We delivered our Project Management Fundamentals course to establish common understanding using PMBoK principals. We further customised the course to suit the client’s current PMO climate. Within 12 months of our pilot course, two participants had received a promotion from junior project delivery team members to mid-management level positions.
Contrary to other Academics who dictate course material, Richard’s willingness to understand what we needed and adapt his program to meet the customer need, is exactly why we chose PMWorks. Developing a Business Analysis Community of Practice
PMWorks established a Business Analysis (BA) Community of Practice to improve and standardise the BA disciplines within the organisation. The initial phase of this endeavour required PMWorks to develop a gap analysis between the current and target states of the BA practices at Cochlear. Additionally, we then developed a roadmap that provided a plan as to how the defined gaps could be addressed. The recommendations from this study were accepted and Cochlear are looking to implement the activities.
